Captain Mike Chornobay is the Commander of the Patrol Bureau of the Huntington Police Department and a highly esteemed member of the department’s command staff with over 24 years of experience. Prior to being promoted to this position of leadership, Mike not only led but created one of the most highly regarded law enforcement training divisions in the state of West Virginia. During his time in that position, he rose to become an expert in use of force, defensive tactics, firearm master instructor and has shared this knowledge with departments all over the state. During his ascension thru the ranks of the department, Mike served as a patrolman, detective, Crisis Negotiation Member, and has led the departments hiring process for over a decade. Prior to his employment at the Huntington Police Department, Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Marshall University.
